Music Ministry

Our music ministry at First Baptist Dawson is a fun way to worship the Lord by singing His praises. All of the groups sing a variety of music, from traditional hymns to southern gospel to contemporary.

We have several opportunities for involvement, including Adult Worship Choir, Won by One Praise Team, and Children’s Choir. Find out more about each of those opportunities below.

Adult Worship Choir

The adult Worship Choir of First Baptist Church is an exciting place to be. We lead the Sunday morning worship services in music. We sing a variety of music from Contemporary to Southern Gospel to traditional hymns. We in the choir are like a family within a family. We enjoy worshiping through our music as we praise the one true Holy God.

We meet on Wednesday nights at 7:15pm. There is a place for you. Come join us as we praise God together.

Won by One Praise Team

In 2010, God laid on the heart of Linda Mayo, the church pianist, to start a smaller music group. Therefore, Won by One was born. This praise team was formed for younger adults and for adults that were unable to make it to regular choir practice during the week. Linda feels that the praise team is just another tool to worship and bring others to worship through music.

Won by One meets on Sunday mornings at 8:45 am in the Choir Room upstairs. The praise team sings different styles of music from Contemporary, Gospel, and Traditional. Please come and join us, we would love to have you!

Children’s Choir

Children from the age of 3 years to 5th Grade can sing in the Children’s Choir. The Children’s Choir meets on Wednesdays at 5:00 pm right before Wednesday Night Supper and other various activities. The Children’s Choir has several performances each year, with the main one being a Christmas play/musical.
