Church Staff
Currie graduated from the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, SC in 2009 with a Bachelors of Nonprofit Administration and a minor in History. He completed his Master of Arts in Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013. Currie’s goal, as a minister, is to work alongside and provide leadership for the local church with the aim of placing emphasis on families, discipleship, and reaching the local community through outreach and missions.
He and his wife Annette have been married since 2010 and have three beautiful children together. Theresa is 4 years old and Rucker and Lillian are 2-year-old twins. Currie brings over 10 years of ministry experience to the pulpit. Currie is an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, and shooter. He also really enjoys just getting to be a husband to Annette and a father to Theresa, Rucker, and Lillian.

Music has been a life-long career for Charles Jones, who often sang in church as a child. After graduating from college, he began traveling the eastern United States, from Florida to Canada, as a Song Evangelist in revivals, camp meetings, concerts, and crusades with Bill Glass. Later as his family grew, Charles served several churches as Minister of Music. Charles is presently serving FBC Dawson in his 12th year.
Music has been a part of Linda Mayo’s life for as long as she can remember and she is so thankful to God for that. Linda started taking piano at the age of seven and has been playing ever since. She has played at school events and churches, and also enjoys sharing the “gift” that God has blessed her with. Linda has been pianist for 33 years and Won by One Praise Team Leader for nine years at First Baptist Dawson.
Diane Ray has been our church secretary since November 2001. She has been married for 45 years to Jack Ray, and together the two have two sons and five grandchildren. Diane likes to do yard work, go on mission trips, and has a heart for helping others.
With over 60 years of bookkeeper experience, Clara Wheeler has been our Treasurer since 2009. She began attending First Baptist in 1954. She is the mother of three children, all of whom attended, were baptized, and were married at First Baptist Church.
